Racing returns back to Morphetville racecourse, Rosehill racecourse and Caulfield racecourse this Saturday for three great cards this Saturday with two Group 1 races at Morphetville and a bunch of great racing in NSW and VIC to support the card. Best Tip: Caulfield - R3 - #1 - Pounding

Pounding is the class horse in this field but does encounter a couple challenges here being that he doesn’t draw to have the best run here and does have to lug the big weight but I think that he should just have the level to overcome the challenges that he faces here. He was brilliant when resuming in the Country Discovery at Yarra Valley when flying home from the rear of the field and now goes out in trip, better for the run and will be strong here.

Best Roughie: Morphetville - R7 - #5 - Queen Of Dragons

Queen Of Dragons brings great form to this race after running fourth in the Vinery Stud at Rosehill last time out where she was near the speed and tried hard from there but just couldn’t go on with the best late. Orchestral was the winner there and she would be well under evens here. She gets the map, Lane aboard and will be strong late.

Stats and Insights

As the home turn encompasses nearly 700 metres of the course, backmarkers are often disadvantaged if they don’t have a top jockey on as it is hard to time your run well at Morphetville.

Caulfield Racecourse is a tighter track than Flemington and suits on pacers more until distances past 1600m.

It has been noted by stewards and sharp punters recently that being on pace and close to the rail has been the best place/places to be at Rosehill in recent times, a track that is known to change every couple months in terms of bias so take good note of that.
