Racing comes back to some familiar faces this Sunday with bumper eight race cards set for Sandown Lakeside racecourse and Sunshine Coast racecourse off the back of the Group 1 races season unofficially starting this past Saturday with future Everest prospect I Am Me getting the money in an awesome listed race. We got unlucky with our Saturday Tips as it was overall a very tricky day which does tend to happen as the competition level ramps up in anticipation of Spring Carnival racing but I am keen to hit back hard and have picked out a best bet and roughie of the day for this Sunday across the two aforementioned tracks and then highlighted where you can get the best odds for these picks across the Aussie betting sites. There should be a couple promotions going around across our betting apps this Saturday to give us an edge on the bookies and I have outlined those and highlighted them below the tips. I think we are on for a big Sunday of racing and am looking forward to it!

Monarch of Egypt rates a way in front of these in the getout at Sandown tomorrow and I am confident he goes over here. The Hayes boys have had him see a very successful prep so far with a win and a bunch of close placings and after taking a little drop off he seems to have hit form again. His last run came in Saturday grade at Caulfield in a 1400m race that saw him overcome a long wide run where he continued to improve after having to settle back from a wide barrier and despite all the work he still had a kick in the straight to finish third behind Arran Bay and Aspen Colorado. That form is the best in this field and from barrier six Cartwright will have plenty of options and I think he likely takes this out.

Better Lad should get every chance from barrier one in this field with Powell aboard. He hasn’t put in a bad effort this campaign and loves this track. All five of his past runs have come at the course and he has finished either runner up or won in his past four, with two of those being very sharp wins and the placings being unlucky. He’s hard fit, flying, loves this course and his splits ready amongst the best in this field. The query is whether or not he still has steam in the tank but if he does this is his ideal distance range and he will be strong throughout the run.
