Horse Racing Tips and Best Bets 01/02/24

Racing returns to Doomben racecourse and Gosford Racecourse off the back of some exciting midweek races and we have two solid cards ahead of us at each of the courses. Our best bets tips and free horse racing tips both did quite nicely this past Wednesday and I am keen to keep the momentum going as we look towards the Friday racing and then Saturday’s big racing. I have picked out a best bet and best outside chance of the day as well as outlined our best promotions across the aussie betting sites. Best Tip: Doomben - R4 - #1 - Plundering

Plundering has to rate somewhat highly here for Annabel Neasham and I think is an honest favourite and likely one of the better bets of the day. She’s been coming awfully close in her past few without winning and comes here after last racing over the 1200m at Randwick where she was only run down near the line by a sharp horse in Contemporary. She rates very highly off the back of that effort and I think her fourth career win comes now.

Best Roughie: Gosford - R3 - #5 - Up And Comer

I am doubling down on the Annabel Neasham runners with my bets tomorrow as Up and Comer is sent out for his fifth career start and he looks like a smart animal for the stable. He came off of a 28 week break from racing when placing at Orange first up before stepping out three weeks between runs and then winning very well at Wyong last time out. More upside to come third up and hard fit now he can win again and comes in at nice price here.

Stats and Insights

Over the shorter trips at Doomben (up until about the 1350m) outside barriers are significantly disadvantaged. Look for horses that draw inside or have lots of early speed and stay away from those that are backmarkers.

Dylan Gibbons is the top jockey at Gosford this season with 10 winners in 50 runs. He gets four bookings tomorrow so watch for any of them at nice odds as of time of writing this.

Gosford has a 400m straight with the home turn being a long sweeping turn which gives runners time to position themselves for big runs in the straight.
