Racing returns to Gosford racecourse and the Pakenham Synthetic racecourse and I have been away for tipping for a couple of days but I am back now and I’m not going anywhere! It’s good to be back and I am keen to get the ball rolling again and have run through both of the race cards and picked out a couple standout bets across the Aussie betting sites. I am tempted to say that even with the big weight Pure Hydrogen should still have enough to offer over this field to take this race out. The John Thompson product has only had eleven career starts but has already made three of them winning ones. Last time out he was just second up off a long spell when he stepped out over the mile at Kembla and after setting fifth and two wide he took over near the turn and kept going to win very strongly and looked to have plenty more to offer. He ran a solid bit of time there and looks suited stepping onto the more spacious Gosford track now, should have plenty of upside still third up, Latham retains the ride and all things point towards another big showing if he can handle the 60kg on his back.

As usual, I am always looking for synthetic runners that are tried on the synthetic and whilst there are a bunch of unraced horses in this race I think that Collison presents as massive overs in this field in Collin Scott and I am keen to have something on. Both of his last two runs have come at this track  and trip and the last run he looks to have clicked up in a massive way where he set fifth and did the whole trip three wide, forced to push four wide at a point and still came on so strongly on the turn to hit the lead at the 100m and looked like he was there to win but found one better in the dying strides. Even a slightly more economic run would have seen him easily win that. He’s drawn wide again but I think he can cross and get into a better position early, with added fitness and staying at the track / trip he’s ready to win at a huge price.
