Best Bets of the Day

OnlyRacing.com.au has you covered for Thursday horse racing action at Hawkesbury and Pakenham. We have your best bet of the day as well as a cheeky roughie. My best bet is at Hawkesbury on Thursday in R6 over 1300m and the track is rated a soft 5. Meanwhile, my roughie bet of the day is at Pakenham also in R6 over 1400m. Look out for showers around the area at Pakenham. Let's get into it!

Best Tip: Beauty Rising #1 Hawkesbury R6

Beauty Rising is my best of the day on Thursday and it's worth noting she's won third-up before. First-up, she finished 6th out of 9 at Randwick Kensington in a Grad BM68 on April 25 over 1400m on a slow track, trailing 8 lengths behind Redbreast while carrying 57.5kg at $13. On her second run from a spell, she stayed on pace throughout and came 2nd out of 7 at this track in a BM64 on May 14 over 1300m, just a nose behind Bat Out Of Hell with 57.5kg at $5. She's in good form and has strong claims to win on Thursday.

Best Roughie: Royal Mule #10 Pakenham R6

Royal Mule is back in action on Thursday after a six-month break and looks promising. In her first prep, she found form quickly and has prepped for this with two trials, placing in the latest. Her last race saw her finish 6th of 8 at Moonee Valley in a F&M BM70 over 2040m, 4 lengths behind Miss Tarzy carrying 56kg at $11. On debut, she finished 2nd of 14 at Kilmore in a F&M Mdn-Sw over 1200m, just 2 lengths behind Innocent Moves carrying 58kg at $17. She’s fresh and ready to make a strong comeback. Keep an eye on her for a bold run!

Stats and Insights

  • Hawkesbury Racecourse is known to have a very real home track advantage and pro punters have affirmed that there are certain runners that irrespective of their form at other tracks, if they perform historically at Hawkesbury then that form is likely genuine.
  • Pakenham is one of the smallest tracks in the country, with only 1400m circumference and as such suited to front-runners and those horses with the ability to race handy to the pace.
  • 1400m - 1600m at Pakenham winners predominantly emerge from barriers 5-8 which suggests those horses who either fire straight onto the speed or those that sit just behind the speed have the greatest chances.

Best Racing Promotions

Promotions have historically been a great way for bettors to gain an advantage over betting sites by providing an edge to your bet. For racing specifically these promotions can be extensive in providing you some form of ‘outs’ to your bet that you wouldn’t normally receive.

Palmerbet, in recent weeks, has stood out to me across the Aussie betting sites that offer racing promotions and is one that I would take a look at, especially for big race days that feature Group 1 races and Saturday’s in general.

On our site we have a Palmerbet Review that goes in depth into the bookmaker as well as a Vicbet and Punterspal Review amongst some of the other top bookmakers that frequently have promotions.

Promotions tend to change regularly, so it is important to sign up to these betting sites to stay updated on the latest applicable promotions.
