Best Bets of the Day

Racing returns to Bendigo racecourse and Wagga racecourse off the back of what was a pretty solid day of Wednesday racing where we had our roughie of the day win at $9.50 across the Aussie betting sites and we also had one of three of our exotics bets hit at pretty good odds as I had built it around that roughie of the day so that paid off well. We didn’t have too much else go our way with a bunch of close placings but it was still a profitable day due to the exotics tips article and the roughie of the day so be sure to check out those articles if you haven’t been following already. Tomorrow we look to keep the momentum rolling and I have picked out another best bet and best outside chance of the day as well as where you can get the best odds across the  Aussie betting sites  and as always have attached a small section on the best promotions going around across our betting apps and some helpful track insights for betting tomorrow. Follow me below for another good THursday of racing!

Best Tip: Wagga - R5 - #2 - Spitfire

Matty Dale sends an assault of runners to Wagga tomorrow but #2, Spitfire looks like the leading contender amongst his runners and also is the overall top rated runner at Wagga tomorrow. He comes into this fourth up after a soft kill first up at Goulburn he has been racing in some tough Rosehill Saturday contests where he hasn’t been disgraced at all, finishing midfield in both when not afforded the easiest of runs. Off the back of his last run out over the 1800m stewards noted he should be at about his peak now. He drops back 200m in distance which looks fine for his run style and drops lengths back in depth as well as getting a key claim from Chambers. I think he wins this.

BEST OF THREE TOTES

*The Best Tote bet type pays bettors the highest dividend declared by the three national totes. The VIC TAB, NSW TAB and UBet. This likely means that there aren't fixed odds available at the time of writing this on that bookmaker and there likely will be.

Best Roughie: Bendigo - R2 - #4 - Himeros

There’s a couple on debut here for some big stables and it wouldn’t shock at all if some of those went over but I really like the chances of Michael Hughlin’s Himeros who draws barrier two and maps to run his own race out front here. He resumed from a long twenty two week spell at Moe over the 1200m about three weeks ago where he sett three deep and just wide without cover before improving to on the pace third on the turn and having a big kick in the straight to beat all but the winner in a very strong return to racing without the most economical of runs. He should have plenty of upside off the back of that run and now goes out 200m in distance which he looks well suited to. I think he could get some element of control from the low draw with Mott on, who will be sure to give him every chance.

Stats and Insights

  • The Bendigo Racecourse is a very spacious circuit with long straights (24m width) and well-cambered turns (6% Camber) which makes it a great course for up and in runners and also lends opportunity to backmarkers to come on strong.
  • The Bendigo Racecourse has chutes for the 1100m and 1600m that sees runners go around one full 180 degree turn and generally sees rails in runners go over the best at these distances.
  • The Wyong racecourse is near circular, offering runners with more dynamic run styles and those that handle bendy tracks a big advantage, also gives those close to the rail an advantage in sprints

Best Racing Promotions

Promotions are an imperative aspect of horse racing betting and have traditionally been the primary mode of punters getting an edge over the  Aussie horse racing betting sites as you are essentially getting an extra shot at your bet that you wouldn’t traditionally be offered through promotions.

Punterspal, in the last few Saturday racing meetings, has stuck out to me amongst the Aussie betting sites that provide racing promotions and is one Australian betting apps I would look into, particularly when it comes to Saturday racing as we approach the Group 1 races season again this Spring.

On our site we have a Punterspal Review that goes in depth into the bookmaker as well as other reviews such as Vicbet reviews, Palmerbet reviews etc amongst some of the other top bookmakers that frequently have promotions.

Promotions tend to change regularly, so it is important to sign up to these betting sites to stay updated on the latest applicable promotions.
