Monopoly Girl is overdue to shed the maiden tag and think she is going to be tough to beat here for the Kavanagh stable. She’s had two runs since resuming from a long twenty one week spell and both of them have been full of merit; the first came at Newcastle over the 1200m where she was caught wide early and did plenty of work throughout the run when coming into the turn two wide and kept battling away in the straight but just couldn’t get there over the winner when those two cleared the field. He produced a similar effort last time out at Taree when caught wide and doing heaps of work to nearly win and just fall into second. He comes into this hard fit third up now and draws a good gate, meets a beatable field. Go very close here.

Champ Profond returns here for the Jarvis stable after really finding his feet when starting his first campaign for the stable last time out and now looks well placed to resume a winner again. He debuted for the stable when a super close runner up at the Sapphire Coast after doing heaps of hard work out wide before going out to this track over the 1300m and clocking an impressive win both in running and on the splits on paper before being weakened out of it in his last run of the prep. No public jump out work is a bit concerning but the way he debuted for the stable last time suggests he can return in a big way and he draws well, solid jockey booking, I think there is a bit of intent.
