Peggie Boom does look like the leading contender here and I think despite the big field she’s going to be tough to beat. Clinton Taylor and Justin Stanley have a whopping 38% strike rate when combining and this horse comes off the back of a smart run at this track over the 1200m where he was held up until the 150m but when getting clear air he was powering home and placed third there. He’s hard fit, maps to get a softer run, light weight. I think he only runs well here.

I think that My Mate Cobber has been set up very nicely here and seems to have hit form in his first prep for the Lantry stable. He comes into this off the back of a very close runner up placing at Muswellbrook where found the rail to lead and gave a big kick in the straight but was just found by a smart horse very late in the piece. He gets a big claim from Hillier here and draws for a soft run, I think back 100m is positive as well. Top chance at odds.
