In good form and has strong claims to win on Wednesday. Last start was a good one, placing 2nd in a BM72 at Warwick Farm over 1300m. Previously, 3rd of 9 at Rosehill Barrier Trial-Open on May 17, 2024 over 900m. Has enjoyed plenty of success at this track (Randwick-Kensington) with a 100% record of finishing in the top-three. Loves the distance and I hope that continues. Has enjoyed success in wet conditions and the track conditions should be suitable. Has had success when running second-up, so I like its chances on Wednesday. In good form at the moment, so hopefully that continues.

Best Roughie: Blakmax #4 Doomben R9

Her last race saw her finish 9th of 16 at Doomben in a BM78 over 1350m, 4 lengths behind Miss Tarzy carrying 56kg at $11. However, I think Blakmax can do a better job here from barrier 10. Previously, 5th of 12 at Eagle Farm BM85 on May 4, 2024 over 1400m. But it could improve here. Has had success when running second-up, so I like its chances on Wednesday. Take your pick between PlayUp, Chasebet or Questbet.

  • The 1 and 9 barriers have both won 13.2% of races since 2017 at the Randwick Kensington track.
  • The first 3-4 races in most meetings are called "Maidens" and these races are usually risky and unpredictable. This is because the runners are usually making their debut or have only had a few starts. So it's advisable to stay from these races unless you have a good bankroll.
  • Over the shorter trips at Doomben (up until about the 1350m) outside barriers are significantly disadvantaged. Look for horses that draw inside or have lots of early speed and stay away from those that are backmarkers.
