Last race at Hamilton, Last Raider was right up there in the finish, just placing second. He showed some speed and battled on fairly well. In this race, I think it's got another suitable draw, which should make it tough to beat. In its last start, Last Raider (54kg) and ended up placing 2nd, just behind Brungle Raider (54kg) over 2200m and was right up there. That should be a good form guide for this race and I think it could easily get the win this time. Previously, 1st of 10 at Coleraine RST58 on September 27, 2024 over 2250m. Very good top 3 stats at the track. Likes running in dry conditions. In winning form, don't look past it.

Howlin' Rain showed promise at Cranbourne on October 11, finishing 2nd out of 11 in a BM64 on a good track, just 0.4 lengths behind Awesome Lineup (54.5kg) with 56.5kg at $5.00. With that run under its belt, Howlin' Rain is expected to improve and I think is a strong contender for this race. Previously, 3rd of 10 at Geelong RST62 on September 26, 2024 over 1447m. Racing well at the moment, so I like its chances.

It's shown it has the ability to be a serious contender and with a bit more luck and a better trip, it’s got a real shot at taking this one. Previously, 2nd of 8 at Rosehill BM88 on October 12, 2024, over 2000m. Randwick-Kensington stats are excellent, having not finished outside the top 3 yet. Should enjoy the distance (1800m).

This week’s racing features a loaded agenda as we have seven Group 1 races before our Melbourne Cup 2024 guide next Tuesday. Mid-week racing will see the Bendigo Cup over 2400m at Bendigo Racecourse, look out for Wednesday horse racing tips by our team. Then on Saturday, it is derby day at Flemington.
