Best Bets of the Day

Racing returns to Newcastle racecourse and Bendigo racecourse off the back of an exciting midweek set of meetings and we went a bit luckless in our Wednesday Tips with almost all of our runners finishing in the trifecta but no bunnies for us and I am keen to hit back hard this Thursday with some of the top Victorian and NSW stables having placed runners at their respective States provincial meetings where there looks to be a few nice betting spots across both cards. As usual, I have picked out my best bet of the day and best outside chance of the day in this article as well as where you can pick up the best odds across the Aussie horse racing betting sites / betting apps. Below the tips I have recently re-written a section on the best promotions going around across our Aussie betting apps / betting sites so be sure to check that out as there are some good promotions going around. Follow me below for another exciting Thursday of metro racing!

Best Tip: Bendigo - R4 - #2 - North Channel

North Channel looks to be a progressive horse for the Hayes boys and I am keen on his prospects in this not overly strong field. He’s had just the one career start to kick things off in style where he debuted over 200m dearer than this on the Synthetic at Pakenham where he didn’t get going until late in the piece where they were running wildly up top but the way he let down in the last 100m was ever so impressive, clocking a last 600m of 34.16 and beating all but the smart winner, Brazen Kingdom. Off that run getting out to 1600m looks ideal and he will have plenty to offer only second up now under Craig Williams.

BEST OF THREE TOTES

*The Best Tote bet type pays bettors the highest dividend declared by the three national totes. The VIC TAB, NSW TAB and UBet. This likely means that there aren't fixed odds available at the time of writing this on that bookmaker and there likely will be.

Best Roughie: Newcastle - R5 - #12 - Skye Banner

Skye Banner rates highly at his best and I think if he can find something near that he will be very competitive in this race and looks to be big overs. He resumed off of a decently long 18 week spell under Bullock over the 1200m here where he raced keenly and had to be restrained early and looked to work into the race but was badly held up from the 400m - 200m and then clipped heels and had to be eased out of the race in a total forgive run. That run will have aided his racing manners and he will be fitter for that outing as well as he usually runs well second up. Just one win in 24 starts is the query but his place odds look very good and I think that this is a winnable contest if he can produce something near his best the way the splits read.

Stats and Insights

  • Kris Lees has an impressive 26% strike rate at Beaumont Newcastle and has just the one runner at the course racing tomorrow, who is current favourite in R4, watch closely.
  • Newcastle is a spacious and flat track with a 400m straight that gives almost all barriers an equal chance to run on
  • The Bendigo Racecourse is a very spacious circuit with long straights (24m width) and well-cambered turns (6% Camber) which makes it a great course for up and in runners and also lends opportunity to backmarkers to come on strong.
  • ● The Bendigo Racecourse has chutes for the 1100m and 1600m that sees runners go around one full 180 degree turn and generally sees rails in runners go over the best at these distances.

Best Horse Racing Betting Sites

Best Racing Promotions

Promotions are an imperative aspect of horse racing betting and have traditionally been the primary mode of punters getting an edge over the  Aussie horse racing betting sites as you are essentially getting an extra shot at your bet that you wouldn’t traditionally be offered through promotions.

Punterspal, in the last few Saturday racing meetings, has stuck out to me amongst the Aussie betting sites that provide racing promotions and is one Australian betting apps I would look into, particularly when it comes to Saturday racing as we approach the Group 1 races season again this Spring.

On our site we have a Punterspal Review that goes in depth into the bookmaker as well as other reviews such as Vicbet reviews, Palmerbet reviews etc amongst some of the other top bookmakers that frequently have promotions.

Promotions tend to change regularly, so it is important to sign up to these betting sites to stay updated on the latest applicable promotions.
