Check out the free horse racing tips and best bets for Thursday's racing at Bendigo and Hawkesbury. Struck Gold has caught my eye in Race 9 at Bendigo. I also like the look of Eastern Frontin Race 6 at Hawkesbury. There will be tricky conditions at Bendigo on Thursday, the track is a heavy 9 and there's more rain on the way. There's similar conditions at Hawkesbury, the track is also a heavy 9 at the moment. So try and focus on runners that like the wet. Let's get into it!

Best Tip: Struck Gold #4 Bendigo R9

With Ethan Brown on board last start, won at Sale (1212m). So hopefully that form continues into Thursday's race. On Thursday, Ethan Brown is in the saddle and knows how to win. Get on board. Before that, Struck Gold finished first at Morphettville in a BM66 on February 24, 2024 over 1200m. Distance shouldn't be an issue either, loves running 1300m. Likes running second-up, good record. In winning form, don't look past it. Excellent record in the wet, 2 wins in 3 starts and hasn't finished outside the top 3 yet.

Best Roughie: Eastern Front #8 Hawkesbury R6

On June 17 at Warwick Farm in a Barrier Trial-Open over 789m, Eastern Front started slow and finished 8th out of 10, while carrying a decent weight at odds. Previously, 5th of 7 at Warwick Farm Barrier Trial-Open on June 7, 2024 over 740m. Should enjoy the distance (1100m), has won before over the trip. Doesnt mind running third-up, good record thus far. Have a crack each-way, good odds at betting sites.

  • The Bendigo Racecourse is a very spacious circuit with long straights (24m width) and well-cambered turns (6% Camber) which makes it a great course for up and in runners and also lends an opportunity to backmarkers to come on strong.
  • The Bendigo Racecourse has chutes for the 1100m and 1600m that sees runners go around one full 180 degree turn and generally sees rails in runners go over the best at these distances.
  • Hawkesbury Racecourse is known to have a very real home track advantage and pro punters have affirmed that there are certain runners that irrespective of their form at other tracks, if they perform historically at Hawkesbury then that form is likely genuine.
