Racing comes back to some familiar Tuesday suspects with decent cards of racing set for The Hawkesbury racecourse and Kyneton racecourse and I have run through both the cards quite extensively and picked out what I think are some of the better betting spots on the card. In this article, as usual, I am focusing on an overall best bet and best outside chance of the day. I’ve also outlined our best promotions across the aussie betting sites. In the final part of the article you should find some helpful track insights for both the racecourses which should assist your horse racing betting. Follow me below for another great day of racing this Tuesday!
Horse Racing Tips and Best Bets 19/03/24
Best Tip: Kyneton - R7 - #3 - Thargomindah
Thargomindah has had just the one career start for Peter Moody and Kathy Coleman but I think he’s one of the better placed favourites of the day. He made his debut to racing at Dunkeld back at the end of November last year when running very well, hitting the lead on the corner three wide and powering away from the field to win strongly and hold them at bay. No public trials for the return but the stable is flying right now, he gets a key 3kg claim to offset top weight and from a good draw he looks like he’s going to be tough to beat here.

BEST OF THREE TOTES |
*The Best Tote bet type pays bettors the highest dividend declared by the three national totes. The VIC TAB, NSW TAB and UBet. This likely means that there aren't fixed odds available at the time of writing this on that bookmaker and there likely will be.
Best Roughie: Hawkesbury - R3 - #3 - Coto De Caza
A wide open race makes this a very good betting spot for some bigger odds chances and I have landed on John Sargent’s Kiwi import in Coto De Caza who made a big return to racing at the beginning of the month off of a 19 week spell when stepping out at Kembla over the 1500m where he came from 2nd last along the rail to work into the race throughout the run before really letting down in an eye catching go to storm home late and grab second placing. Fitter now, out in trip and looks to have returned in career best form, only goes well for me and the booking of Sherry is a bonus.

Stats and Insights
- Hawkesbury Racecourse is known to have a very real “home track advantage” and pro punters have affirmed that there are certain runners that irrespective of their form at other tracks, if they perform historically at Hawkesbury then that form is likely genuine.
- Kyneton is a sharp turning track that has a clear bias to front runners, even out to staying distance due to how much ground they save.
- Interesting to see Joe Pride sending a runner to the Hawkesbury tomorrow, Pride rarely sends runners to regional tracks without intent so watch for that horse in R3.
Best Racing Promotions
Promotions have historically been a great way for bettors to gain an advantage over betting sites by providing an edge to your bet. For racing specifically these promotions can be extensive in providing you some form of ‘outs’ to your bet that you wouldn’t normally receive.
Palmerbet, in recent weeks, has stood out to me across the Aussie betting sites that offer racing promotions and is one that I would take a look at, especially for big race days that feature Group 1 races and Saturday’s in general.
On our site we have a Palmerbet Review that goes in depth into the bookmaker as well as a Vicbet and Punterspal Review amongst some of the other top bookmakers that frequently have promotions.
Promotions tend to change regularly, so it is important to sign up to these betting sites to stay updated on the latest applicable promotions.
