BEST BET - #1 - Don Pedro (NEXT BEST)
Surely this is a solid chance for Don Pedro to get the win aboard for this prep, and if not he really is a milk drinker. He has only won the two races from fourteen starts but has been building towards a win very nicely thus far this campaign with his three runs back from a spell seeing him run home well each time, with the two most recent efforts being in Saturday grade. He shapes up well here off the back of those efforts and the win should come now.
THE DANGER - #2 - Turned Down
Turned Down has only had the one career start for John O’Shea, coming just shy of three weeks ago at this course but all you can do is win and that’s exactly what he did off the back of a few sharp trials to lead him into racing he sat outside the leader most of the run before letting down at the 200m and never being in doubt from there. Shapes up well here if he can overcome second up syndrome.
VALUE BET - #5 - Surreal I Am
Surreal I Am is another horse that rates very highly here for Kris Lees and this guy has only been going well in his debut campaign so there’s no real reason to jump off him now. He had two sharp first outings at the races where he clocked back to back placings before really getting going last time out at Doomben over the 1650m where he was ready to fire third up and subsequently did in a sharp display. Hard fit, in form, can win this.
