Saturday Racing Tips - Randwick Racecourse 10/02/24

Racing comes back to Randwick this Saturday as the Autumn Group 1 races season is upon us and we have two listed races on the card as well as the massive Inglis Millennium, a 1100m sprint for a share of $2 million prize money. I am very excited for this card and have run through and picked out my best betting spots of the day so follow me below!

BEST BET - #1 - Anode (BEST BET)
Anode looks like the straight bat option here for the Waterhouse / Bott stable and has been saved for this race since winning dominantly on debut on the 16th of December where he found the front and never gave any horse a chance to get into the race. His trials have been very solid for the return to racing and I imagine they will employ similar tactics here.

THE DANGER - #8 - Celerity
Celerity is a debutant for the Godolphin stable who comes here at limit weight under Tim Clark and I think only runs well given how the stable goes with their juveniles. They’re juveniles are never placed without consideration and this guy has had two sharp trials to lead him into the debut with the latest being a very smart run where he ran home well at Warwick Farm. Well placed here.

VALUE BET  - #7 - Castanya
Castanya is a smart horse for Annabel Neasham who made her debut at the races two weeks ago where she sat behind a hot speed and couldn’t get clear air for awhile but once she did she was very strong through to the line when finishing just behind Switzerland. She will be much stronger for that run and has the advantage over a few of these of having raced and should feature in some capacity here.

BEST BET - #3 - Another Wil
Another Wil is a sharp horse for Ciaron Maher that looks onto bigger things off the back of this race. He resumed over the 1400m at Sandown where he looked like he was gonna belt the field and he did, winning by a couple lengths where it looked like he easily had more petrol in the tank as Kah easily could have asked for more. He’ll be fitter for that effort and has plenty of upside, I think he is one of the better bets of the day.

THE DANGER - #6 - Infinitive
Infinitive should be very strong for Chris Waller getting out to this trip now after resuming over the 1400m at Warwick Farm where she was right at the tail of the field and let them get a ways in front of her before clicking up hard late and flying to the line to nearly win the race when second to Hell Hath No Fury. she’ll be much fitter now and up in trip she will be tough to beat.

VALUE BET  - #1 - Ceerseven (ROUGHIE OF THE DAY)
Ceerseven has been very sharp in two runs back for Mick Freedman and rates highly coming into this with more upside third up and off the back of a run at Moonee Valley a couple weeks ago over this trip where he came from the rear of the field to clock a very big win. Rates highly here with more upside.

BEST BET - #4 - Fully Lit (NEXT BEST)
We covered the prospects of Fully lit earlier this week in our news article for the Waterhouse and Bott stable and he comes into this three weeks between runs after finding the front and not letting any other horse get into the race when winning well and clocking a good time in the process. now that he has that run under the belt he will be fitter, roll forward again and should be even stronger late.

THE DANGER - #2 - Rue De Royale
Rue De Royale looks quite a sharp horse for the McEvoy’s in his two runs to kick the career off and now comes back here off of a 13 week spell when last running at Rosehill where he was held up until the 150m before chasing very hard when clear into second placing. The recent trial at Geelong was very sharp and I think he will be tuned up for the resuming run.

VALUE BET - #5 - Zestiman
Zestiman comes here three weeks between runs for the Hayes boys after making his debut down the Flemington straight where he sat on the speed and was strong in his stride as he improved very well to win in good fashion. Getting out to the 1100m should be positive for his run style and given the price he looks like a good bet here.
