ChromaBet Review (January 2025)

“New racing-focused bookie with a unique theme.”

ChromaBet’s slick and streamlined design makes it look like the bookie has been around for a while. In fact, the bookie is one of the new betting sites that has popped up in late 2024, but they have already captured the attention of many. 

The thing that I like the most (and I will go into more detail later in this ChromaBet review) is their racing product. A lot is going on and they offer markets on both domestic and international races. The overall user experience (on desktop and mobile) is great, making it very easy to find what you are looking for.

My Score: 7.1/10

Betting Offerings - 7/10

As a new bookie, ChromaBet Australia has all the key betting areas covered across all three racing codes and sports. Some of my key thoughts on their betting offering include:

• Australian Racing: You can bet on all the same races at ChromaBet as you can on the more established bookies in the market. From your Monday maidens to your key Group One races, like the Caulfield Cup and the Australian Cup, they have you covered.
• International Racing: If domestic racing isn’t enough for you, then spread your bets across the entire globe with ChromaBet. They have markets for international racing events across thoroughbred, greyhound and harness racing. I would certainly consider ChromaBet one of the best up-and-coming greyhound racing betting sites.
• Sport: Can’t forget about sport! While their racing markets are quite extensive, they could do more with their sports-related markets. There is still a great offering, it may not be as comprehensive as some of the more established players in the market though.

Banking Options - 6/10

When it comes to the betting sites payment methods, I have to say this is an area that could probably use the most improvement. It is quite limited with debit cards and bank transfers the only options. I expect this to improve in the future though, as they continue to grow.

There are plenty of PayID betting sites and PayPal betting sites in Australia, with the demand for these banking options only growing. So, I wouldn’t be surprised if adding options like these are already in the pipeline!

Mobile Experience - 8/10

I found the mobile experience with ChromaBet to be quite user-friendly. Their app has been recently released and it’s clear they have put in a lot of thought into the navigation, speed and other key aspects.

Withdraw Speed - 6/10

The withdrawal speed at ChromaBet is quite standard, especially for a new bookie. It’s difficult for new bookies to compete with the almost instant withdrawals that other bookies offer! When withdrawing, you’ll usually see your funds hit your bank account in one to three business days.

Overall User Experience - 8/10

I couldn’t find anything major to fault when looking at the overall user experience at ChromaBet. Some of my key takeaways include:

• Easy to place your bets (only takes a couple of clicks).
• Website and app are fast-loading.
• Interesting theme with vibrant colours.

Customer Support - 6/10

You get pretty much the same level of customer support with ChromaBet that you do at the majority of the other new betting sites on the market. There are two options available, email (submit a ticket) and live chat. 

Security - 9/10

The Australian wagering industry is highly regulated. This means that a properly licensed bookie like ChromaBet is a safe place to bet. Bookies like ChromaBet Australia take security very seriously and there are multiple measures in place to ensure your personal information remains safe.

ChromaBet Australia is one of the newest players in the market and the company is owned by Gavin and Tracey Mansour. The bookie uses the BetCloud software platform, which is why you may see some similarities between ChromaBet and others in the market.

You’ll see a modern theme on ChromaBet, with a bold and striking colour palate that captures the eye. I have a soft spot for betting sites like ChromaBet because it is clear they are focusing on racing (and I love racing!).

A quick look at their homepage and you’ll see all the upcoming racing events above the fold. This makes placing a racing bet very easy and can be done in a couple of clicks. Some of their key racing features, like blended odds, top tote and more are great.

If you’re wondering “how to bet on horses”, you’ll be pleased to know that the process as a whole is quite easy at ChromaBet. The range of markets and other racing-focused products make it an ideal place to bet. They also have heaps of racing promotions, but I’ll get to that later on in this ChromaBet review!

They could benefit from aspects like live streaming for races, but that is a lot to ask for a new bookie when they are just getting their footing in the market. They also have decent racing odds across several of their markets, so there’s certainly value to be found.

In terms of ChromaBet’s racing features, here are some of the things that really stand out:

• Top Tote: To be considered in the top tier of racing bookies, offering the top tote is a must. Here, you can choose to bet on the tote and this will give you the best price out of all three totes.
• Fluctuations: At ChromaBet, you can see what price each runner opened at, as well as any fluctuations in the price over time. It can give a good indication of whether a runner has been well-backed in the market recently.
• Quick Insights: The quick insights (if any) are displayed next to each runner’s fluctuations and provide bite-sized details on a horse that might perform well in the race.
• Same Race Multis: These are becoming all the rage at the moment and with SRMs, you can pick the runners you think will finish in the top two, three or four.

While the quick insights are great to see, especially for casual bettors who might not necessarily understand or be able to fully utilise the extended form, it would be good to have more details on the form. This could help bettors make more informed decisions, especially if you were thinking about placing some multi-bets!

On top of this, they do not currently offer detailed horse racing tips. This would be the cherry on top of the cake though and remember that you can still get all your tips including exotic tips and Saturday horse racing tips right here with us at OnlyRacing!

ChromaBet covers all events at top Australian racing tracks, so no matter the race you want to bet on, you’ll find it with ChromaBet. They, of course, cover all the Group One races as they are the biggest events on the calendar. For more information and a Group One races list, we have you covered.

The ChromaBet app has just been released in the respective app stores. After downloading the app, it is clear to see that a lot of resources have been put into it to make it one of the best new betting apps going around.

Since taking a look around, I haven’t found any bugs or issues with the app and it works just as well as the website does. It’s clearly been designed and developed by a team that enjoys a flutter as well. 

I was pleasantly surprised with aspects like:

• Simple Navigation: When I picture in theory where I would place features, buttons, etc. around the app, ChromaBet comes pretty close to delivering in reality.
• Racing Events: Upcoming racing events are displayed on the home screen, which makes it very easy to place your bets in just a couple of taps.

The products and features are really what makes a bookie stand out, so it would be silly for me not to include information about it in my ChromaBet review! You’ll find that the majority of products and features available at ChromaBet are similar to what’s on offer at other BetCloud software bookies.

While aspects like live betting aren’t available, some of the best products and features that I love and think you will too include:

• SRMs/ SGMs: It’s never been easier to place SRMs and SGMs. These betting options are available on selected markets and can really boost your potential return.
• Cash Out: This is a relatively new feature to the BetCloud software and means you can cash out of your bet early (if you want) and claim winnings before the event has finished.
• Blended Odds: With blended odds, you can combine more than one runner from the same race into your bet. This is a nice option if you are tossing up between two runners.
• Best Tote: The best tote is available for Australian horse races and if you choose to be on the tote, you’ll get the highest odds from across the three Aussie totes, or the official starting price.

ChromaBet Australia excels more on the racing side of things. There are a range of betting markets available across both domestic and international races. On top of this, domestic and international races are covered for all three racing codes.

While their racing betting markets seem to be more comprehensive, they haven’t let the sporting side of things completely fall by the wayside. I found their range of markets for sport to not be as comprehensive as some of the more established bookies, but if you are looking for the main markets, ChromaBet has you covered.

Betting bonuses are something that most bettors look for when choosing to sign up for a bookie or not. These days, bookies aren’t able to advertise any promotions and bonuses to new potential customers. Instead, promotions are only visible when a user is logged in to their account on the bookie’s platform.

When I had a look at the promotions available with ChromaBet Australia, it was clear there was a solid range available. They have promotions for both racing and sports, so no matter the type of bettor you are, there’s some value for money to be found.

Like with every other bookie I have signed up with, the process of signing up to ChromaBet was incredibly easy. To start the process, click on the lime green “Sign Up” button on the top right-hand corner of the website or app.

You will then fill out your account details, like your email, password, name, address, date of birth and more. After you’ve successfully added your details, you will be asked to set a deposit limit (this is optional, but highly recommended). Lastly, you will be taken to the deposit page, so you can deposit and place your first bet with ChromaBet.

How to Deposit

When it comes to depositing funds into your ChromaBet account, there are only a couple of clicks involved. Firstly, head to your account and select the “Deposit” tab from the left-hand side menu. You will need to add your debit card details if you haven’t already.

After that, you can select how much you wish to deposit, with the minimum deposit amount sitting at $10. Once you have clicked the “Deposit Now” button, the funds will almost instantly be in your account, so the real fun can begin.

How to Withdraw

ChromaBet withdrawal is just as simple as depositing. Head to your account page and click on the “Withdrawal” tab that is displayed on the left-hand side. You will be required to add your bank details if you haven’t already.

If you have, then you can choose how much you would like to withdraw and confirm the figure. From there, it will usually take one to three business days for the withdrawal to hit your account. 

The level of customer service available is an essential component of any bookie, so it makes a lot of sense that I talk about it in this ChromaBet review. As ChromaBet is just getting started, I found the customer service options to be fairly limited.

They do, however, have my personal favourite method of communication with customer service - live chat! Some more information that you should be aware of when it comes to ChromaBet’s customer service include:

• Live Chat: To get a fast resolution to any questions or concerns, you can chat with the customer service team through their live chat function. You will be guided with information if the team is online and available or not.
• Email: You can email the customer service team if they are not available through live chat. Here, you are required to create a ticket and you can do so by clicking on the button in the bottom right corner.

To pick up some easy value for money, it’s a good idea to check out the odds. I have compared ChromaBet’s odds and margins with some of the other new and established bookies on the market and found that ChromaBet’s odds are decent, especially for fixed racing.

Value can be picked up here and there with ChromaBet and I certainly wouldn’t say they have the worst odds going around, but I wouldn’t consider them the best either. In the end, they are still a new bookie, so this is something they will likely improve on in the future.
