My Verdict

When it comes to new betting sites, I think BuffaloBet has a lot going for it. They have a racing-first attitude and all the upcoming racing markets take up the most important parts on the home page. This makes BuffaloBet betting for racing very easy.

Most of their best features and products are centred around racing, but they haven’t completely forgotten about sports! There is a decent sports offering, including the ever-popular SGMs. Their odds are fairly competitive as well, especially for a new bookie.

My overall user experience was certainly a smooth one. I didn’t encounter any issues when looking through their website or app. Both were fast-loading and the navigation was easy for me to understand. All-in-all, BuffaloBet seems to be a great addition to the Australian betting landscape.

My Score: 7.4/10

Score Breakdown

Betting Offerings - 7/10

As a starting point, it is good to see that BuffaloBet has a lot of the bases covered. If you’re the kind of person who likes to stick with the main events and markets, you won’t have any trouble with BuffaloBet.

I’ve broken down their betting offerings into racing and sports to talk about them more individually:

  • Racing: This is where I think BuffaloBet excels the most as they offer in-depth coverage of Australian races, across all three racing codes. Plus, they also offer betting markets for international races as well. I think there is every chance that BuffaloBet could become one of the top greyhound racing betting sites in the future.
  • Sports: BuffaloBet covers a lot of sports as well. It might not be at a similar level that you see at other bookies that have been around for years, but they cover the basics. The most popular markets are covered, which caters to the widest audience possible.

Banking Options - 6/10

When it comes to the available betting sites’ payment methods, there is certainly room for improvement. At the time of writing, they offer two banking options, one of which is debit cards (available for deposits) and the other option is bank transfers (available for withdrawals).

There is room for improvement here, but this is something you should come to expect from betting sites that have only recently launched. I wouldn’t be surprised to see BuffaloBet become one of the top PayID betting sites and/ or PayPal betting sites in the future.

Mobile Experience - 8/10

The BuffaloBet betting experience on mobile is a positive one. They have a dedicated app and it is very easy to use. I would say the mobile experience is just as good as the desktop one, thanks to all the optimisation work they have put in.

Withdraw Speed - 7/10

At BuffaloBet, the withdrawal speed is pretty standard. There’s nothing to write home about, but I don’t think you can expect much more from a bookie who’s just getting their footing in the industry. Generally, it takes one to three business days for a withdrawal to hit your bank account.

Overall User Experience - 8/10

When exploring the BuffaloBet website and app, I didn’t encounter any issues, which is a positive, especially for a new bookie where teething issues can sometimes be present. When I placed my bets, it only took me a couple of clicks, which is something I always look for.

Some user experience aspects that I liked in particular include:

  • Easy navigation.
  • Unique theme.
  • Fast-loading site.

Customer Support - 7/10

The customer support at BuffaloBet is quite standard. Again, nothing special, but not poor by any stretch. There are two ways you can get in touch with the customer service team if you have any issues or questions; live chat or email.

Security - 9/10

Security is a very important aspect to look at in any BuffaloBet review and I am pleased to say that they are fully licensed to operate in Australia. As they are licensed, they must follow all the relevant laws and regulations.

About BuffaloBet

BuffaloBet is one of the many new betting sites that was launched in late 2024. Damien McGrath is the owner of the bookie and he is also the co-owner of WinBet. BuffaloBet uses the same BetCloud software platform that some other Aussie bookies use, so you might see some similarities there.

The striking blue and yellow colours are the first thing that attracts you to the site and/ or app. BuffaloBet betting is completely streamlined thanks to the excellent user experience. There is a solid range of promotions available and their racing product, in particular, is worth checking out.

BuffaloBet Racing

I believe racing is where BuffaloBet excels. That’s not to say their sports-related offering is lacking, it’s just that they have seemingly put a lot more effort into their racing features. For someone like me who’s been in and around the horse racing industry for a while, it had pretty much all the things that I look for.

They are also accommodating for new bettors as well, who might even be looking at how to bet on horses in the first place. So, it doesn’t matter how much betting experience you have under your belt, BuffaloBet is a suitable option for everyone! If they can add live streaming in the future, this would really raise the bar.

Some of the BuffaloBet racing-related areas that I enjoy include:

  • Fluctuations: Having the fluctuations available for each runner makes it easy to see which horses are market movers and which ones are drifting in the market.
  • Same Race Multis: Lockdown bigger odds for yourself by putting together a Same Race Multi. You can add multiple runners in the same bet and the world is your oyster.
  • Blended Odds: If you can’t make a decision between a few runners in the same race, you can blend them into one bet. This means you get combined odds for all the horses you choose that you think will win the race.

While BuffaloBet doesn’t offer detailed horse racing tips, they do have quick insights, which is great for those who are looking to place a last-minute bet. It would be nice to see BuffaloBet include more detailed tips, but you don’t really need that because all the tips you could ever need are available at OnlyRacing!

We have exotics tips, tips for your multi-bets, Saturday horse racing tips, Group One race tips and so much more. That’s right, we provide tips for all the Group Ones across the year, including the Caulfield Cup and the Australian Cu. Check out our Group One races list to see all the other races we cover.

BuffaloBet App

Betting apps are very important these days as many bettors prefer to use an app because of the convenience it provides. So, one of the first things I did when I started working on this BuffaloBet review was head to the app store to see if there was an app.

There is a BuffaloBet app and I am pleased to see it does stack up when compared to most of the other betting apps on the market. I spent a decent amount of time exploring the app and I am yet to come across any issues.

Some of the things that I enjoyed the most about the BuffaloBet app include:

  • Positive User Experience: It was easy to find what I was looking for and I could get my bets sorted in just a couple of clicks.
  • Quick: The app was fast to load and there was never any delay in going from one screen to another.
  • Bug-Free: This may be a relatively new app, but I didn’t find any bugs or glitches with the app.

BuffaloBet: Products and Features

For a bookie who is just starting out, I was surprised to see the range of products and features that they already have available. If this is the starting point, I am very excited to see where BuffaloBet goes in the future and if they can add things like live betting, it would be very beneficial.

You might notice that some of the products and features are similar to other bookies in the market. This is because BuffaloBet uses the same BetCloud software platform that some other bookies use.

Some of the key products and features available at BuffaloBet include:

  • SGMs/ SRMs: I mentioned SRMs in the racing section of this BuffaloBet review, but they also offer SGMs, which is great for those who are interested in more than just racing.
  • Mystery Bet: This is available for racing and you can let the computer take the wheel and choose a bet for you.
  • Best Tote: Instead of taking fixed odds, you can try your hand with the best tote and this gives you the best price of the three totes.
  • Quick Insights: Quick insights are available across all three racing codes and provide bite-sized pieces of information about the chances of some runners.

BuffaloBet Betting Markets

I think BuffaloBet has a decent range of betting markets, especially for racing. If you’re the type of bettor who likes to stick with the main markets, then you should have no trouble finding what you want with BuffaloBet.

Their racing markets are where they excel in particular, but there is still a good range of sports markets as well. As they continue to grow, I expect that will add more markets so they are on a similar level to some of the more established bookies in the industry.

For sports in particular, here are some of the sports you’ll find available at BuffaloBet:

  • AFL
  • Cricket
  • NRL
  • NBA
  • Soccer
  • NFL
  • And more

BuffaloBet FAQs

If you like what you see with BuffaloBet and you want to sign up, you can use our code “ONLYRACING100”. This BuffaloBet promo code signifies to the bookie that you have joined them through OnlyRacing.

Yes, BuffaloBet is an Australian company. They are fully licenced to operate in Australia and owned by Damien McGrath. Damien McGrath is also the co-owner of WinBet and the bookie is a safe place to bet.

Sign-up offers are no longer available for all Australians. Regulations brought in almost a decade ago limit what bookmakers can offer to induce new customers to sign up, making sign-up offers a thing of the past.

BuffaloBet betting is pretty easy and you can have all your bets sorted in just a couple of clicks. Firstly, find the sporting or racing event you wish to bet on. After that, look for the specific market you’re interested in. Click on that market and it will be added to your bet slip where you can confirm your stake amount and finalise the bet.

There aren’t a lot of deposit options available at BuffaloBet. Customers can use a debit card to deposit funds into their BuffaloBet account. You can add multiple debit cards to your account if you wish.

BuffaloBet Promotions and Bonuses

Everyone likes finding a good deal and this is where promotions and bonuses can come in handy. There is room for improvement in terms of promotions and bonuses at BuffaloBet, especially when you compare it to some of the other bookies that have been around for a while.

However, as a starting point, there’s a lot available. I don’t think it’s fair just yet to compare BuffaloBet with some of the other bookies that have been operating for years. They still do offer a solid range of promotions and I expect their offering to grow as the bookie does.

You can find out more about their betting bonuses when you log in to your account. Once you have logged in, head to the “Promos” page to see what promotions and bonuses you can take advantage of.

For more details about the promotions available with other Aussie bookies, you can check out our full list of online bookmakers in Australia page. We have a PlayUp review, Chasebet review and more, so you can see what’s on offer.

How to Sign Up to BuffaloBet

Before you can start BuffaloBet betting, you’ll need to sign up! The sign-up process is very easy and it only took me a couple of minutes before I was able to start betting. Firstly, click on the blue “Sign Up” button on the top right-hand side of the screen.

After you’ve clicked on that button, you will be asked to create an account by filling in personal details like your name, address, date of birth and more. The next screen will ask if you want to set a deposit limit. Once that is done, you’ll be directed to the deposit page.

BuffaloBet Banking

How to Deposit

Depositing funds into your BuffaloBet account is easy! Just head to your account and find the “Deposit” button in the inner menu that is displayed on the left-hand side. If you haven’t already, make sure you add in your debit card details (you can have a maximum of three).

Once that is set up, you can choose how much you wish to deposit. As soon as you have confirmed your deposit amount, you should see the funds added to your account. If the funds aren’t added instantly, I would reach out to the customer support team to see what the issue is.

How to Withdraw

The withdrawal process is quite similar to the deposit process. The first step is to head to your account and click on the “Withdrawal” tab on the left-hand menu. For withdrawals, there is only one option available, which is a bank transfer.

So, make sure you add your bank details if you haven’t already. Once those details have been added, confirm how much you would like to withdraw. It usually takes between one to three business days for the transaction to be complete.

BuffaloBet Customer Service

One of the things I looked into in my BuffaloBet review was the level of customer service. The customer service available at BuffaloBet is quite standard. It is good enough, but there’s nothing to really write home about.

The two available options include:

  • Live Chat: Live chat is my preferred method of communication and I find that my issues or questions get resolved much quicker using this method.
  • Email: By clicking on the button in the bottom right-hand side corner of the screen, a pop-up will open and you can send an email by creating a ticket. This is useful if the customer service team isn’t available through live chat.

BuffaloBet Odds and Margins

For a new bookie, I think the odds on offer are fairly decent. There are some markets where other bookies have BuffaloBet’s numbers, which is usually across sports-related markets. However, when I look into racing-related events, BuffaloBet consistently offers competitive odds.

No matter who you choose to bet with, I also recommend shopping around for the best odds if you have the time. Especially if you are looking at a market with roughie odds because there is usually a bigger discrepancy in the odds. This is an easy way to pick up more bang for your buck.
