Belmont Racecourse is one of two major tracks in Perth, with the other being Ascot Racecourse. The track itself is located near Perth’s CBD, in Burswood. With some of the best drainage systems going around, you’ll find plenty of Belmont race tips throughout Winter.

The track has a circumference of 1,699m and there is a home straight of 333m. The oval shape of the track features a long sweeping turn and both ends and this gives all runners plenty of straight to work things out. Generally speaking, barriers don’t have as much of an influence here compared to other tracks.

Belmont Betting Strategy Types

Win Bet

The Win Bet is the simplest bet type and therefore it is recommended for beginners, once they have found their Belmont horse tips. It is easy to understand and follow this bet type throughout the race as you only need to focus on one runner.

You’ll see many Belmont horse racing tips that feature the Win Bet and to be successful, all you need to do is pick the horse you think will win the race. The odds available for this bet type will be dictated by the runner you choose (i.e. if you choose the favourite, the payout won’t be as high as if you chose a roughie).

Treble

There are plenty of exotic tips going around that feature the Treble and while it is difficult to land, the potential payout can be eye-watering. It is for this reason that you’ll always see heaps of Belmont tips for today that feature a Treble.

So, what is exactly involved in a Treble bet type? Well, to be successful, you have to pick the winner of three consecutive races on the card at Belmont. Difficult, we know! If you want to make things easier for yourself, you can always add more than three runners to your bet, but this will decrease the odds.

Quadrella

When it comes to Belmont racing tips for today, the Quadrella, or Quaddie as it’s more commonly known, is extremely popular. It is important you fully understand what is involved with this bet type, however, before you decide to use it.

A Quaddie is pretty difficult to land and involves picking the winner in four consecutive races on the card at Belmont Racecourse. It’s kind of like the Treble, except you have one more race to choose from, which increases the degree of difficulty.

Belmont Racecourse History

Belmont Racecourse was previously used as a harness racing track and in late 1910, the first harness race meeting was held, conducted by the Western Australian Trotting Association. Harness racing at Belmont continued on a fortnightly basis with the Western Australian Trotting Association using both this track and Claremont Showground.

Harness racing concluded at Belmont Racecourse in 1913 when harness racing moved to the WACA Ground track. The track served as Perth’s first regular landing area and the first aeroplane flight in Western Australia took place from Belmont Racecourse in 1911. A more suitable site was found in 1919, so the landing area was moved to Langley Park.

Distance:	Guide:
1,000m	At the shortest distance, runners begin the race in a chute and are fed onto the race proper at the beginning of the first and final turn. Out of all the race distances, barriers are probably the most important here.
1,200m	At 1,200m, runners have half of the back straight to work things out before the first and final turn. Barriers don’t really come into play as much because there’s enough straight in the beginning.
1,400m	With races slated at a distance of 1,400m, runners have the entire back straight to find an ideal position in the field. Barriers don’t really have any influence over things.
1,600m	Races at 1,600m begin in a chute that feeds runners into the middle of the first of two turns. Barriers have some influence, but it’s nothing worthy of much note.
2,200m	Runners have the entire home straight to contend with in races slated at 2,200m. There are two turns in this race, with runners needing to complete an entire lap of the track. Barriers don’t really come into play here.
2,400m	Starting in a chute, runners at this distance face a similar challenge as the 2,200m race, except they have more home straight to jostle for position. Barriers don’t have much influence over proceedings.

How to Get to Belmont Racecourse

It takes less than 10 minutes to drive to Belmont Racecourse from the city and the track can be accessed off the Graham Farmer Freeway at Saintly Entrance. If you do plan to drive to the track, you’ll be pleased to know that there is heaps of free parking available. There are also reserved areas for Perth Racing Members.

If you’re thinking about catching public transport, the best option is via train as the Perth Stadium Train Station isn’t too far away, well within walking distance. Taxis and rideshare services are another option and you can be dropped off/ picked up close to the Grandstand entrance.
