Best Bets of the Day

Racing returns to our usual midweek suspects with very competitive eight race cards at both Canterbury Park racecourse and Sandown Lakeside racecourse and I am very keen on both of these cards with free horse racing tips on our site for both tracks where I extensively go into the day’s racing at each track separately and think that there are some very nice betting spots on the card with runners coming back from Saturday grade and progressing towards Saturday grade as the Group 1 races season is upon us with Spring racing officially kicking off this weekend. Below I have taken my overall best bet of the day and best roughie of the day across the two tracks and where you can pick up the best odds across the Aussie horse racing betting sites / betting apps. Below the tips I have recently re-written a section on the best promotions going around across our Aussie betting apps / betting sites so be sure to check that out as there are quite a few promotions going around for this Wednesday. Follow me below for another exciting Wednesday of metro racing!

Best Tip: Sandown Lakeside - R4 - #7 - Korobeiniki

I reckon Korobeiniki is going to take this out and looks to be an ultra progressive horse for the Harnett stable. He resumed off of a long 27 week spell over the 1400m on the Pakenham synthetic where he wound up before the straight and stormed down the outside to get the money in impressive fashion before stepping out to the mile on the Synthetic and getting the job done again impressively. He then came to the 1740m at Sale last time out where he should have won again but was held up multiple times and still hit the ground running to get into the placings late. This contest really isn’t all that strong, he’s hard fit, flying and draws to recieve every chance. Very keen.

BEST OF THREE TOTES

*The Best Tote bet type pays bettors the highest dividend declared by the three national totes. The VIC TAB, NSW TAB and UBet. This likely means that there aren't fixed odds available at the time of writing this on that bookmaker and there likely will be.

Best Roughie: Canterbury Park - R4 - #3 - Iknowastar

Iknowastar is an awesome horse for Bjorn Baker and I think that despite his pretty poor fresh record, the stable seems to have him seriously tuned up for start one of the campaign here. Last campaign he put together four wins in a row on the bounce before tackling a tough race at Rosehill where he produced an end of prep run and was never headed. Now, he’s had a 20 week spell and has had two 900m trials at Rosehill and then this track where he has run them with real intent and clocked some very very quick times. The stable seems to have him going better than he ever has and can take this out first up at a good price.

Stats and Insights

  • Canterbury is a much tighter track than most NSW courses, giving significant advantage to close on pacers and those close to the rail in general. It also favours late rails-in-run horses due to the tight turning nature.
  • Chris Waller sends an army of runners to Canterbury Park tomorrow and is one of the top trainers at the course, he combines with James Mcdonald on a number of the runners so watch for Jmac to take out the TAB jockey challenge as well.
  • Sandown Lakeside has a similar dip to the Hillside in the course at around the 450m mark by the rail. As such it suits horses that make their runs away from the inside, enabling them to avoid the dip at the 450m mark.
  • Sandown Lakeside has a smaller turn from the 800 to the 400 compared to Hillside which allows for runners to come on from wider more, this creates more of a shoot out effect.

Best Horse Racing Betting Sites

Best Racing Promotions

Promotions are an imperative aspect of horse racing betting and have traditionally been the primary mode of punters getting an edge over the  Aussie horse racing betting sites as you are essentially getting an extra shot at your bet that you wouldn’t traditionally be offered through promotions.

Punterspal, in the last few Saturday racing meetings, has stuck out to me amongst the Aussie betting sites that provide racing promotions and is one Australian betting apps I would look into, particularly when it comes to Saturday racing as we approach the Group 1 races season again this Spring.

On our site we have a Punterspal Review that goes in depth into the bookmaker as well as other reviews such as Vicbet reviews, Palmerbet reviews etc amongst some of the other top bookmakers that frequently have promotions.

Promotions tend to change regularly, so it is important to sign up to these betting sites to stay updated on the latest applicable promotions.
