BEST BET - #9 Maritima (BEST BET)
My best bet of the day is in the opening race for this Canterbury card, and for the first time I am NOT picking a favourite. I really think Maritima has opened long here and will come in to or at least close to favourite. Bet with caution but Maritima is my best bet of the day!

VALUE BET - #7 Quintillion
In a difficult race for Quintillion, I can very well see Brenton Avdulla having a strong showing in the opener. Among the stronger runners and drawn well here. Looking to have repeat placings. Each way.

THE DANGER - #4 Fudai
Fudai has opened as favourite and looks very strong. The obvious danger here and could prove tough to beat. Already putting in great times and can breeze through this field. I still have Maritima to win but do not leave Fudai out of early multiples.

BEST BET - #1 Akasawa (NEXT BEST) 
Has a great record from third-up and is third-up today at Canterbury. Will suit at this trip and Zac Lloyd understands the task at hand. Looking for back-to-back wins at this track with Lloyd at the reigns. My next best of the day. 

VALUE BET - #5 Dimaggio
How can I not be fond of a horse named after Joltin’ Joe. All omens aside, Dimaggio is a very strong horse who can confidently take this race by the scruff of the neck. Drawn well here and will look to figure. Personally, sprinkling a bit on here. 

THE DANGER - #4 Baltic Coast
A bit of an outside odd danger, however Baltic Coast is long on my book, and by quite a lot. Has shown lots of room to improve and can very well do so here. Would be hard pressed to leave out of bets. Sneaky trifecta here.

BEST BET - #6 Travelling Kate (Best Roughie)
Racing very well now and hopefully this good form comes to a head here at Race 7 of Canterbury’s Friday night meet. From watching Travelling Kate’s recent races, I strongly believe Josh Parr can assist and get the win here. Best roughie of the day!

VALUE BET - #9 Fuller
There’s always a bit of value when JMac is in control. Came home well in a respectable effort last start. Has previously lost to many runners from this field so looking for revenge. Do not leave Fuller out of your multiples.

THE DANGER - #3 Rosovo
The favourite in this one, and I can understand why. Has figured in the past couple races and looking to go better here. Zac Lloyd raced him twice last month and knows what his style. Will be tough to beat but shouldn’t by this short for my money.
