BEST BET - #1 - Alluring Rebel
Alluring Rebel comes off just the one start at Mornington when sitting on the pace all run three wide with no cover and fighting hard to go down late after showing a good turn of foot. He’s racing for the kent stable, Brown retains the ride and I think he maps to get a similar run, with some luck he takes this out.

THE DANGER - #5 - Extravagant Choice
Extravagant Choice made his debut at the races a fortnight ago at Stony creak as an odds on favourite, he missed the jump there and still ran well despite that. He’s racing for a prominent stable, will be fitter now and gets Ben Allen aboard.

VALUE BET - #2 - Chargenlikapluma - (ROUGHIE OF THE DAY)
Chargenlikapluma is screaming for a win. He has found his peak and has been racing smartly and impressively placing in all 4 outings this campaign from synthetic to bog tracks to soft. He hasn’t raced on the good going and i am interested to see what he does on race day.

BEST BET - #4 - Lavish Thinker - (BEST BET)
Lavish thinker is the clear on topper in this race, he resumes off a near half year spell but has come 2nd in both runs to date, one was on a bog track but seemed to just cruise through there after making a great debut on a softer Geelong track. He has the makings of a good stayer and first up 1400m seems ideal. I am excited to see Poy’s ride. I’ll make him my best.

THE DANGER - #1 - Cradle Of Life
Cradle Of Life makes his debut at the races for Richard Laming and they have mostly been quite after two trials in Queensland in late November when ridden quietly. The stable gets Ethan Brown booked for the ride and the market should tell the story but i suspect there is something here.

VALUE BET - #5 - Lolly Money 
Ben Allen and John McArdle combine on Lolly Money who has been kept out of the public eye but draws softly and the stable/jockey combo has to be respected. This is one that the market will tell the story again but watch closely for any information that comes out.

BEST BET - #6 - Squami - (NEXT BEST)
Squami has been patiently worked with to this point. The Simon Zahra product comes into this race after a win as a $3.00 favourite at Terang when showing an impressive turn of foot, taking over and drawing clear of the field at the 200m. He should be rock hard fit now, Thornton has been with him all prep and if he can settle in a good spot I don’t see why he can’t go on with it now.

THE DANGER - #9 - Aminatu
Aminatu presents as the danger in this race, had the run of the race last time leading rails and being outgunned late but didn’t look suited to leading and proved there that he is fit now. He finds a similar field and I think this is his chance to prove if he is genuine.

VALUE BET - #3 - Hinto Blue
Hinto Blue is a horse I have a lot of time for. On paper he hasn’t been particularly in form this prep however he should be fit now 3rd up and has had success 3rd up previously. Two from three of his wins have been on the dry ground as well and Celine Gaudray had a nice run on him two back at Pakenham.
