Friday Racing Tips - Cranbourne Racecourse 23/12/22

Friday nights at Cranbourne continue into the end of the year with an 8 race meeting with distances varying from the 1000m sprint to the 2600m staying race in race 7. The track is predicted to be a good 4 and I believe it will stay in that range as the weather should hold up.

All races have equal prize at 40k per race and I will be covering my best and next best bets of the day, a roughie, quaddie and multi.

I’m looking forward to closing out the year in a big way, merry christmas and happy holidays to you all.

Cranbourne Race 3 – MDN HCP (1200m)

Selections:
#4 - Elly Dee - $4.00
#9 - Nunthorpe - $3.00
#5 - Indy Rose Warrior - $14.00 - (ROUGHIE OF THE DAY)
#6 - Flying on a limb - $6.00

BEST BET - #4 - Elly Dee
Elly Dee was in the mix last start when fresh, first-up at mornington. She showed some good signs there with a smart run looming behind the leader and fought hard at the end to just be run over by the winner. He was wide throughout in that run and I think that showed late. She Draws to get every chance here and finds a softer field, Ben Allen retains the ride and I think he will be suited at this track and distance.

VALUE BET - #5 - Indy Rose Warrior - (ROUGHIE OF THE DAY)
Indy Rose Warrior comes back to a shorter trip here and off a long 24 week spell. Before being sent back to the paddock ran a fast 4th at this track and trip on a soft track and exhibited some talent there. The run before that placed 2nd at Donald under similar conditions. She draws wide here but can cross early and be right in this.

Cranbourne Race 4 – MDN HCP (1600m)

Selections:
#1 - Bob The Horse - $5.50 (NEXT BEST)
#9 - Crimson Light - $3.70
#13 - Naval Destroyer - $7.00
#6 - Concentric - $7.50

BEST BET - #1 - Bob The Horse - (NEXT BEST)
I’ve been following Bob The Horse this prep, and whilst he is luckless in 5 outings this campaign he has made his way into the placings in every single run, never running a bad race. That form reads exceptionally for this as he comes back to race at a country level. Nugent retains the ride and he draws okay, with some solid steering I think he’ll be too good for these.

VALUE BET - #6 - Concentric
Ben Allen must be respected on Concentric based off his last run. He ran well here 3 weeks ago when second behind Bon’s Pride, a smart type. It was a strong effort there leading and looked the winner when just gunned down late. He should be rock hard fit now and has a good jockey aboard. I think there's a bit of value here.

THE DANGER - #9 - Crimson Light
Crimson Light is another that has been running well without winning and returns to a country level. Maps to sit just off the speed in this race and run over the top of them late. His form reads well and should have the speed to close this out. I place him marginally behind Bob The Horse.

Cranbourne Race 6 – BM68 HCP (1200m)

Selections:
#1 - Mutinous - $2.20 (BEST BET)
#10 - Senegalia - $3.60
#5 - Margie’s Boy - $9.00
#8 - Aminatu - $10.00

BEST BET - #1 - Mutinous - (BEST BET)
Mutinous can do no wrong at the moment and just keeps appearing to have more in hand. Comes off the back of 2 consecutive wins, showing improvement from the first to the second when belting them by 3 lengths last time out at the valley in tougher company than this. He picks up another 2kg here from that run but nothing looks like its going to stop him right now and I cannot wait to watch this race play out.

VALUE BET - #5 - Margie’s Boy
Margie’s Boy won on debut on a heavy track over this distance as a $3.5 favourite when taking over at the 100 metre and charging clear of the field. He seemed to relish the heavy so the good going is a query for me but I think he’s a talented type and look forward to seeing how he improves here second up.

THE DANGER - #10 - Senegalia
Senegalia is the main threat to Mutinous in this race and with good reason. The mighty Maher and Eustace stable combines with Mertens under Senegalia who looks to have been carefully selected for this race. Comes off a long 31 weeks spell after breaking maiden in style at Tarwell when taking over at the 250m and charging clear of the field. He looks a talented horse and if he can win this I imagine he will be onto bigger and better races next year.

Jockey Of The Day – Luke Nolen

Luke Nolen is the top jockey at Cranbourne this year, with an insane 30% strike rate, albeit not in that many rides. However, with 8 wins in 27 rides it speaks testament to the stables choice of runners for their rides with Nolen. I like quite a few of his rides, some of which are included in my tips and will also be centering my multi around this premise.

Cranbourne R4 - Naval Destroyer - $7.50
Cranbourne R5 - Aeecee Supreme - $4.00
Cranbourne R7 - Slipintothis - $5.00
Cranbourne R8 - Ruggiero - $5.50

Multi Tips For Cranbourne Racecourse

I think that Between Luke Nolen and Teo Nugent there should be a handful of winners emerging under these two at Cranbourne this friday and as such I have centred my multi around this and my best picks, going for more of a long shot here with a more considered quaddie next.

Exotic Tips For Cranbourne Racecourse

I am following up with a quaddie at Cranbourne as I quite like a lot of the top selections in those later races and think there are a couple at longer odds that can siginificantly boost our odds if they pick up the win. As such, I have gone a bit riskier on the quaddie.

Our experts have curated a bet type information page which delves into all the different types of exotics betting, check it out for clarification on the different types of exotics betting or just to brush up on your knowledge.

Quaddie Tip (Cranbourne R5-8)

R5 - 3, 6, 8
R6 - 1, 6, 10
R7 - 2, 3, 6, 10
R8 - 3, 4, 5

$50 stake = 46.3% Flexi (VIC TOTE)

Best Promotions for Cranbourne Racecourse

Promotions are traditionally the primary way for punters to create an edge over the bookies, as they can save your cash when your runner fails to win, in the instance of Unibet they often offer 2nd and 3rd money back in bonus bets for a selection of races on the midweek and Provincial racing days. Coupled with their generous odds I have to put them as the top bookie promotion wise at the moment for Australian racing.

If you are looking for the best promotions this week for Friday’s racing I wouldn’t look past Unibet, often they offer odds boosts in addition to the money back promotions. Don’t forget to check your account as well for personal offers.

Promotions often change so make sure you sign up at unibet.com.au to see what promotions are applicable to you and you may even be surprised to find some promotions that weren’t mentioned here!
