BEST BET - #2 - Magnus Red - (NEXT BEST)
Magnus Red is shooting for a win after returning well to the races with back to back second placings and has shown nice racing style, just getting unlucky both times out and I think hard fit and with even luck he wins, sitting behind them and storming over the top of them late.

THE DANGER - #4 - Signal
Signal has been away from the races for some time now but has run good times that rate well against this field and draws softly, moor gets on board and placed on debut first up. I think that Laurie has been patient with her and am interested to see what they produce on race day.

VALUE BET - #10 - Toffee Street
Toffee Street resumed over the 1000m at The Bool after more than a year away from the races. He was against the race pattern there and still boxed on well when wide throughout. He gets another chance here but may just get drowned out.

BEST BET - #5 - Palaggio
Palaggio resumes after a near half year spell and won at his racing debut at Ballarat. That was on the synthetic so I have to be cautious with how the form reads but I think he is talented, racing from a prominent camp and maps to give them something to catch.

THE DANGER - #9 - Starlea 
Starlea is the obvious danger, racing back from the city and has placed twice in four outings in stronger company than this. I think that she will be hard fit, meet a soft field and will get her chance. Interested to see how she handles the good going but looked okay at recent on similar ground

VALUE BET - #1 - The Last Napoleon - (ROUGHIE OF THE DAY)
The Last Napoleon hasn’t done too much yet but was first up in the City and got bumped around, never really given the chance to be in it. I think that again, the softer field and fitness second up as well as some better luck and he could take this out.

Nursery Chime resumed at the races last time out at Cranbourne over the 1400m and looked the winner, fighting hard but couldn’t go on with the winner and runner-up in the last 150m. Still, that was behind some smart types and was first up, he does his best work fresh. Natural improvement and he will take this out.

THE DANGER - #8 - Judiciary
Judiciary resumed from a half year spell last time out as a $5 pop in the market and caught them by storm when charging down on the outside and letting go in the last 150m to reel them in. He finds a similar field and looks like he makes his own luck, am keen to see what he produces

VALUE BET - #3 - Frankie Two Angels 
Frankie Two Angels looks like he needs a run or two under his belt after resuming from a long spell and ridden quietly last time out at Stony Creek. John Allen jumps back on, having had success before and the lack of speed in this race will suit.

I have gone with the trifecta at Geelong in race 8 as I am going to try hit it boxed, I think that the top 3 selections will compose the trifecta and as such have opted to go with just them and Surin Beach to run 3rd as well but have kept it almost holistically to the top three selections.
