BEST BET - #1 Sky Lab
Sky Lab is the odds-on favourite for the third race here at Gold Coast, and it’s easy to see why. He was extremely unlucky to not claim victory last start at Randwick, but I think the extra 200m on this trip will only play to his advantage. Will be tough to beat and is at a reasonable price.

VALUE BET - #7 Street Dancer (BEST ROUGHIE)
My best roughie of the day at Gold Coast. Street Dancer has placed in each of his last four runs with a win sandwiched in there. Granted this is stiffer competition. Even considering that, I’m finding it too difficult to leave out of exotics and would not be surprised if he goes close or even wins it.

THE DANGER - #4 Bigboyroy
A lot of murmurs about Bigboyroy and his start to forget last time out at Doomben. James Mcdonald is not one to consider lightly and will do everything in his power to make us forget that last start. I’m expecting Bigboyroy’s odds to get shorter so if you like what you see get on sooner rather than later.

BEST BET - #2 Scallopini (NEXT BEST) 
Finally resuming, this horse oozes class and has a brilliant jockey to get him over the line (more to come on this later). My next best bet of the day, mainly due to his last race before break at Flemington Racecourse where he won in strong fashion. Look for Scallopini to get us a win here at Gold Coast!

VALUE BET - #4 Contemptuous 
Do not underestimate this horse. Contemptuous could easily figure in the placings for this race and has only showed signs of improving. Very long odds for my money and is an easy pick to go into multiples for Gold Coast Race 4. Just too hard to miss out on so much value. 

THE DANGER - #1 Eleven Eleven
Like I said in my Gold Coast Race 3 tips, James Mcdonald is not one to be trifled with. A great horse that found great success with the Schiller and Hickman combo. Can never complain with a jockey change such as this but it will be interesting to see how Eleven Eleven goes in his resumption race.

BEST BET - #1 King Of Sparta (BEST BET)
The best horse at the meet and my obvious best bet of the day. Looking past JMac on the reigns, King Of Sparta has won three of his last three starts and looks to win just as he did last year here at Gold Coast. At the end of the day, this horse is all class and can adapt to any situation. My best bet, follow along for a great Saturday on the races!

VALUE BET - #14 Maotai
This was a real toss up for me between Maotai and Vowmaster, with Maotai getting the slight edge thanks to back-to-back wins (you won’t find me leaving out a horse on a hattrick). Even though King Of Sparta is the clear frontrunner, I do believe this race will be exciting with plenty of value. Keep an eye out for both Maotai and Vowmaster in Race 6 at Gold Coast.

THE DANGER - #3 Shooting For Gold
I wonder who my jockey of the day pick is going to be (sarcasm warning). Mark Zahra suits a horse like this that can surge from midfield. One to consider here and looks to be the real danger to King Of Sparta. I still think there is a clear class difference between them but that’s the beauty of racing, you never know!

Let’s look to go back-to-back on multi wins after we finally got the multi through last time out at Moonee Valley. To try and not shake up any good luck that might be in the air, I’m going to use the same methodology as I did for Moonee Valley. This multi for Gold Coast is a combination of my three best bets of the day.
