BEST BET - #1 - Bubbly Lass - (NEXT BEST)
Bubbly Lass is a horse I have been following this prep and think he finally gets the dream run, he should have every chance from barrier two. Cartwright will look to roll forward in a race that doesn’t have much speed. This race is no harder than her last outing where she just missed over the 1600m and she goes on top for me.

VALUE BET - #2 - Ballynora 
Ballynora is the local here, has a knack for this track so definitely must be respected. She picked up a win earlier this month over this distance at the track when sitting back in the run and just smashing them late for a strong, fast win. Of course, she finds a tougher field here but draws well and the valley is a tricky track so if there is a horse that likes the track, we must keep our eyes on them.
 
THE DANGER - #4 - Forbidden 
Forbidden looks to be the natural improver in this race. Moody has this mare performing outstandingly coming off a dominant win at the midweek Sandwon meeting 2 weeks ago just getting clear off the speed. She then Went onto a bigger race and drew clear late, this was second up so I think that there is definitely room for improvement.

BEST BET - #8 - Red Card - (BEST BET)
Red card comes here 3 weeks between runs after an absolutely blistering win at Pakenham on Cup day where he was fast up front but still had more in hand bolting in with a seriously impressive time. However, the form from that didn’t really weigh up last Saturday. He is a proven winner at the valley though which is a massive plus for me, maps to be on the speed and should be too hard to run down late.

VALUE BET - #6 - Jabali Ridge
If they go too hard up front between the runners I have outlined I think they could just set Jabali Ridge up perfectly to run over them. He looked to be strong at Pakenham late in the Pakenham cup, coming second to Najem Suhali. His splits were excellent in that and he gets a good gate. His run depends on what happens up top but don’t discount him at the big price. 

THE DANGER - #3 - Inundation 
Inundation is the clear danger in the race and the price reflects this, he’s an absolutely pacey threat who was massive in defeat and then flopped last start where it was the end of prep so forgive that. He’s been given a nice long break now in an effort to try and focus on dry tracks and has shown strength in his jump outs. The early speed he has is favourable for the track and he must be respected.

BEST BET - #12 - Wahine Toa 
Wahine Toa is a one paced horse, whilst this may be a deterrent I think this is actually a positive for the 2500m. Last time out at 2040m she looked good in transit but when asked to work she just didn’t have much to give. She should land on the speed here and I think will be hard to beat.

VALUE BET -  #13 - Accountability - (ROUGHIE OF THE DAY)
I’m not sure if I am seeing something no one else is or if I'm deluded with this horse. He ran two weeks ago at Sandown and looked to be right in the finish but just failed to close out when 5th in that race. He will be better for the experience at the 2400m and also fitter now, I think this is a winnable race for him.

THE DANGER - #4 - Wertheimer 
Wertheimer is an honest horse who has been running well without winning this campaign. Last run on the good going he really did look the winner but just got held up a couple times coming into the straight and still managed a second placing. Two from three of his wins come on dry ground and I think in this softer field and out to the 2500m he is dangerous in this race.

Jamie Kah was the jockey of the year last year and for good reason, breaking records, hitting the 100 winners mark etc. She has cemented herself as one of the best and is amongst the top 10 jockeys at the Valley which is no easy fete on the more complex track. For the multi at Moonee Valley I have chosen to include those runners that have proven track records at the Valley to try and get a bit of a more considered edge here. I think that this should be a fun little bet to track over the course of race day.

I think it is probably best to steer clear of the quaddies at Moonee Valley as it is a track so susceptible to big odds winners, however I have found a race that I like about 4 or 5 runners above the rest and think that we have a great chance of hitting the trifecta.
