BEST BET - #1 Excelladus (BEST BET)
My best bet of the day is also getting pushed by my jockey of the day Brenton Avdulla. In fact, all three of my ‘best’ tips are with Avdulla on board. Excelladus had a hard-fought second last time out at Kembla Grange with a field of 15. Look to see a win here from my best bet of the day.

VALUE BET - #8 Prince Aurelius
Prince Aurelius is very useful, especially at this price. Can fade towards the end but is almost always among it. I am finding it difficult to leave out of exotics, with great opening speed. Consider.

THE DANGER - #3 Floating
The obvious danger. With two wins in its last five, floating looks like the favourite to spoil my best bet. Will go close in any race but suits a faster tempo. If the field comes flying around the turn, will be hard to beat.

BEST BET - #1 Dr Drill (NEXT BEST)
Came from midfield last up to finish strong and take home second place. I think the distance will suit and Brenton Avdulla understands the assignment. In a race like this, I must consider the second fastest final 200m last up. Next best bet of the card.

VALUE BET - #5 Regal Lion
I feel the track will suit Regal Lion and think it’s a great price. In a favourable field, track, and trip here, can absolutely act as the spoiler. I recommend chucking in multiples. Don’t leave out.

THE DANGER - #6 Gin Martini
A win last up at the 3200m distance. It will be interesting to see if she can keep up with the field, but the market seems to think so. An exciting one to watch in this race but I am leaving it out.

BEST BET - #1 Nugget
Lots of money has come in on Nugget and with good reason. Had absurdly short odds but lived up to expectations and ran a clever race to take home gold. Will look to repeat here at a 3kg heavier.

VALUE BET - #4 Cisco Bay (BEST ROUGHIE)
My best roughie of the day and I can’t seem to get away from Brenton Avdulla. Although climbing in weight here, he is in decent form and should figure. Follow my best roughie here at Randwick!

THE DANGER - #10 Bullfinch
A great price here for Bullfinch. Got stuck last race and couldn’t find clean air to challenge nugget. Carrying the same here and is out for revenge. Difficult to predict what will happen but even more difficult to leave out.
