Came third in a recent trial but looked all class. This three-year-old colt is on debut here and is looking to make a statement. I am expecting a really strong performance and for that reason… BEST BET OF THE DAY!

VALUE BET - #9 What’s Up Honey 
Travelled very well over 850m in a trial, makes her debut here too in the maiden race. Market seems to have her quite long compared to my book. Worth a sprinkle with those place odds.

THE DANGER - #2 Sarsen
Resuming after 10 weeks off, saw a dip in form before the break but is a strong horse. Is capable of a big run and has more experience than the rest of the field. Can outclass the other runners.

My next best bet of the day comes in the second last race of the card. Hold On Honey might seem a bit short and rightfully so considering the gelding has won three on the bounced. I expect a repeat performance here at Doomben.

VALUE BET - #2 Office Jim
Returning from a spell but won its last race in a 650m fight at Toowoomba Inner. Very long for my taste and should figure at least in the placings. Bet with caution but I fancy Office Jim to place or win. 

THE DANGER - #10 Your Too Good
Similar to Office Jim, this mare is returning from a spell after winning her last. Has great pace and has trialled very well. Look for Corey Bayliss to come close or get it done at race five of Wednesday’s Doomben meet.

BEST BET - #7 Okalani (Best Roughie) 
Did struggle most recently but has all the class to beat the field in the last at Doomben. I would obviously feel better about this run if James Orman was on board but I believe in Larry Cassidy to get our best roughie of the day over the line. 

VALUE BET - #3 Gerardjoseph 
Looks very similar to the favourite, Kopangi, here. Won last up and will go well again this time round. Ms Angela Jones understands the task and could very well get the win here. 

THE DANGER - #1 Kopangi
Kopangi is a short favourite reflected by the market’s faith in this horse’s partnership with James Orman (who you all know I love). A bit short for my liking but nothing wrong with this horse and can easily snatch this race.
