About the Inglis Millennium

The Inglis Millennium is one of the first races of the calendar year and while it may not be a Group 1, it still attracts a lot of attention. This race takes place on the same day as one of the other Group One races, the CF Orr Stakes, which is on the 8th of February 2025.

The Restricted Listed race held at Royal Randwick Racecourse, New South Wales is a relatively new addition to the racing calendar. First run in 2019, the Inglis Millennium already attracts a quality field every year. It is also no secret that Royal Randwick Racecourse is one of the top tracks in the country.

The first winner of the Inglis Millennium in 2019 was Castelvecchio. We will go into more detail about all the previous winners of this great race later on this page. Believe us when we tell you that there have been some quality winners in this race!

The prize money for this set weights epic is currently sitting at a staggering $2 million, which is more than double that of the Group 1, the CF Orr Stakes, which takes place on the same day. The Inglis Millennium was previously known as the Inglis Classic and was worth just $250,000 before getting the revamp a couple of years ago.

OnlyRacing’s Inglis Millennium page has all the important details you need. We will show you how and where to bet on the race. We will also get into the race and track history, as well as previous winners of the Inglis Millennium.

Here at OnlyRacing, we love providing tips to our readers. If you're looking for more tips, our Randwick tips page is the place to be.

They are waiting until closer to race day for more information to become available before crunching the numbers and providing our loyal readers with the best tips going around. Until then, we don’t want you to walk away with nothing, so check out our tips for the Inglis Millennium in 2024!

Inglis Millennium Best Bet - Fully Lit

Fully sick, no Fully Lit! He is the favourite at the time of writing, but there’s a reason for this. Super impressive for trainers Gai Waterhouse and Adrian Bott when getting a debut victory. He will have to overcome the car park barrier draw, but I think he has the class to do it. A speedy little runner, if he can land well after the jump, he’s got every chance of another win.

Inglis Millennium Next Best - Rue De Royale

I think Rue De Royale is perfectly suited for the 1,100m Inglis Millennium. He performed well in the Inglis Nursery, finishing second to Shangri La Express, and that should speak volumes. He had difficulties in the Golden Gift late last year, but I think he will be better from the experience, and the barrier draw helps as well.

Inglis Millennium Best Roughie - Rag Queen

She just has to be worth an each-way bet at the odds, currently listed at $18/$5.00! She worked through the field well on debut to win at Canterbury. While she hasn’t done much since that maiden win was eye-catching, and I love a good throw at the stumps. If she can show the same sort of speed in the closing stages as she did in her maiden win, she is in with a shot.

Inglis Millennium Betting

When it comes to betting on the Inglis Millennium, we recommend you bet on a wide range of markets. There are several top-notch betting apps to choose from. The hard part will be choosing which one to go with!

Betting on a wide range of markets is recommended so you can get the most out of the feature race, but also the rest of the race card on Saturday 8th February 2025 at Royal Randwick Racecourse. You don’t have to choose just one bookie either, you can have multiple accounts if you desire!

Listed below are a few market suggestions to consider when it’s the big day:

  • Quaddie at Royal Randwick Racecourse.
  • Quinella/ Trifecta/ First Four in the Inglis Millennium race.
  • Fixed Win/ Place bets on your favourite runners in the Inglis Millennium and across the whole
  • meet at Royal Randwick Racecourse.
  • Multi bet (or even same race multis) across multiple races during the Royal Randwick Racecourse meet.

Knowing the different markets available to you is one thing, but there’s still another question that needs answering. Who are you going to bet with? With so many horse racing betting sites to choose from, it can be a difficult decision to make. But we like to make things easier for you here at OnlyRacing!

We’ve gone through all the best Australian betting sites and found the ones we like and think you’ll like too. Not only that, we’ve also written comprehensive reviews on all the best bookies in Australia, so be sure to check them out as well.

All the bookies offer something a little different, which is why it’s a good idea to have multiple accounts. You want to be sure to take advantage of all the different betting sites’ bonuses and odds available, don’t you?

There are many different bookies that we like at the moment, but we can’t list them all here! One of the best betting apps going around at the moment is PlayUp. They are known to have some great odds, as well as truly unique promotions. PlayUp is perfect for the racing punter.

Talking about perfection for the racing punter, Bet365 comes with all the bells and whistles you could ever need! Their odds are always competitive, and they are one of the biggest betting sites in the world for a reason, that’s for sure. Keep your eyes peeled for their betting promotions as well, they can pop up at any time.

Another bookie that you should certainly consider (if you haven’t already) is TopSport. TopSport is great if you love to play the exotics! They have a good focus on racing as well, so you know you are getting the best.

So, those are just our top three recommended bookies. There are so many more where that came from though. If you’re searching for more recommendations when it comes to Inglis Millennium betting, check out our “Betting Sites” section above! We’ve got many more bookies listed there.

Inglis Millennium Field

The field for the Inglis Millennium in 2025 is not yet available. However, we are expecting another strong field thanks to the epic amount of prize money on offer. Also, you can check out the current Inglis Millennium odds, if available. The odds will give you some idea of which horses may be targeting the race.

While the 2025 field isn’t available yet, you’ll still see a lot of fluctuations in the betting odds. Odds fluctuations are a way of life in the horse racing industry and many factors influence changes in the odds.

So, while we are waiting for the 2025 Inglis Millennium field to be confirmed, let’s take a look at the runners that lined up in the 2024 race:

The 2024 edition of the Inglis Millennium saw a full field of 16 runners and two emergencies. However, Tequila Baby and Cerons were scratched pre-race as was the first emergency, Mic Drop. This meant the second emergency, Catonahotinroof, gained entry into the Inglis Millennium.

Scratchings can take place at any time, even for key events like the Inglis Millennium. It could happen on the day of the race, or even minutes before the jump. We know how annoying it is to see the horse you bet on being scratched, but the good news is that you will get your stake back if this does happen.

Something else worth noting when looking at the final field is the barrier draw. The barrier can have a huge impact on the success of each horse. Tactics for each runner will likely change depending on which barrier they start from. Some barriers have more success than others, so be sure to keep this in mind as well!

Inglis Millennium Form Guide

Before you go out placing your bets on the Inglis Millennium, looking at the form guide and any form indicators is important. Stats are key in any race, especially one as big as the Inglis Millennium. Having all the information will help you make better choices when betting.

Don’t have time to do the form, that’s fine! Here at OnlyRacing, we’ve made it our mission to put together all the key form indicators, so you don’t have to spend time endlessly searching. Each race is unique, and there’s a different set of stats for each, so let’s jump right in!

As the Inglis Millennium is still a relatively new race, it is a little bit difficult to make decisions of form guide information. There’s only a few year’s worth of data to go off, and not enough time to see patterns emerging. But still, we push on!

We usually see a full field in the Inglis Millennium, and this makes the barrier draw even more important. Runners that are closer to the inside of the track may experience an easier run at the start of the race, meaning they have more left in the tank to give it their all in the closing stages. However, the 2023 and 2024 editions of the Inglis Millennium saw the winner come from an outside barrier (15 and 14, respectively).

Previous form can come from several different races, including interstate races, as the Inglis Millennium is one of the first key races on the calendar. Lining up different previous forms can be particularly tricky to do, but it is important to note that this race provides connections with a good lead-up to other key races in the Autumn, like the Blue Diamond Stakes and the Golden Slipper.

When it comes to the odds of the winners, it’s been a bit of a mixed bag. The first two winners of the race have been in double digits, while the last four have all been in single digits, and three favourites have saluted in that time as well, including the 2024 winner, Fully Lit.

Inglis Millennium Horses

We see some pretty amazing horses competing in the Inglis Millennium each year. At OnlyRacing, we have gone into more detail about a couple of the winners of the Inglis Millennium.

The goal in mind? To provide you guys with some of the best horses going around that have won the Inglis Millennium. Check out the key horses from previous editions of the Inglis Millennium below:

Castelvecchio - 2019

When it comes to Inglis Millennium horses, can you go past the inaugural winner, Castelvecchio? This colt has been a regular in Group 1 races, competing in a total of eight Group 1s and he has a very solid strike rate. He has won two of the Group 1 races he has competed in, with two seconds and a third as well.

Overall, Castelvecchio has a record of 13:4-2-2 and prize money of almost $3 million. After winning the Inglis Millennium in 2019, Castelvecchio has gone on to win the Champagne Stakes and the Rosehill Guineas.

Learning To Fly - 2023

Learning To Fly is another horse of note in the short history of winners in the Inglis Millennium. The now 3YO filly has only had four runs in her career, but has managed to win three of them! She has only been tested at Group 1 level one and wasn’t placed in that race, but she is a winner at both Group 3 and Group 2 level.

After winning the Inglis Millennium, Learning To Fly stretched her legs, winning her next race, the Reisling Stakes, which is a Group 2. With prize money sitting at almost $1.5 million, we can’t wait to see what Learning To Fly has in store for 2024.

Inglis Millennium Odds

The key that unlocks everything, the odds! Weeks before the Inglis Millennium field is announced, punters will get a look at all the odds for potential runners, thanks to all the top horse racing betting apps.

You’ll note that the odds in the horse racing markets will fluctuate a lot over the weeks and days leading up to the race. Our top bookie PlayUp, is yet to release odds for the Inglis Millennium in 2025. We expect them to open markets closer to race time.

Even though the odds have not been released, you’ll still see changes. This is caused by many different factors, but one key factor is that horses are all targeting different races. There is also a chance your chosen horse doesn’t even run in the Inglis Millennium. If this is the case and you’ve bet on the race “Before Noms” you will get your stake back.

At OnlyRacing, we think the best time to bet on the Inglis Millennium is “Before Noms” because odds are generally much higher, and you don’t have to risk losing your stake if your chosen runner isn’t in the final field. This is compared to if you are betting in the “All-In” market, which means you’ll lose your stake if your horse doesn’t run.

While the Inglis Millennium odds are yet to be released, why don’t you check out the odds for each runner a couple of days before the race in 2024 below:

Inglis Millennium History

Time for a history lesson! Well, a recent history lesson, as the Inglis Millennium only goes back to 2019. While the Inglis Millennium has only been run since 2019, it was previously known as the Inglis Classic. The Inglis Classic was only worth $250,000 and was run at 1,200 metres.

When it comes to horse racing carnivals, the Inglis Millennium doesn’t fall into one as it is one of the first races of the year. Despite this, we’ve seen several quality horses compete in the race due to the prize money on offer.

This race is part of a bigger Inglis race series, which is worth approximately $8 million! The Inglis Millennium is now the equal second-richest juvenile race on the Australian calendar, behind only the Golden Slipper.

Part of the prize money won in the Inglis Millennium counts towards the Golden Slipper order of entry. Winning the Inglis Millennium can make it a lot easier to gain entry into one of the biggest races of the year, the Golden Slipper.

We also saw in 2023, an Inglis Pink Bonus incentive, which offers a bonus to the first horse home that has a majority of female owners. The horse needs to be registered with a minimum of 75% female owners to be eligible.

The Inglis Millennium is just one of many races on the calendar. If you want to learn more about other key races, make sure you check out our Group One races list. We’ve got all the details you need on key races (including Group 1s and other races with significant prize money)!

Inglis Millennium Results

Not everyone is lucky enough to be at the track on race day or have the ability to watch the race live. This means as soon as the race has been run, punters are searching online for Inglis Millennium results! Did your chosen horse get the chocolates?

The 2024 Inglis Millennium was taken out by the pre-race favourite, Fully Lit (who also happened to be the runner our expert tipped to win the race!). In second place, just 0.76L off the pace was Rue De Royale, who happened to be our expert’s next best for the race.

Are you sensing a pattern here? Well, in third place, a narrow 0.82L off the pace, was Rag Queen. Rag Queen was our expert’s pre-race roughie! Yep, that’s right, our expert really pulled one out of the bag in the 2024 Inglis Millennium, with their top three tips all finishing in the top three!

While we wait for the 2025 results after the race, you can check out the full 2024 Inglis Millennium results below:
